5 week old can > weizenbock glass A: Thickly hazy look of pale gold with a short head that fell fast to a ring and cap, leaving intricate lacing. S: Nice bright citrus/orange scent with a hint of wheat. T: Jarringly tart at first with sour orange flesh and bitter pith. Oatmeal is subtle but works nicely to cut the sweetness that might otherwise dominate the finish. M: Not quite silky or velvety but smooth in texture and light for the ABV. O: Much better than I expected though many may find it lacking malt balance.

Bottle from Harris Teeter, Hampstead, North Carolina. Yellow-gold with a carbonation and next to no head. Its Belgian styling is best in its nose, with a slightly more lager feel in taste. Its spiciness is evident but light.

2 month old bottle into an IPA. A: Poured 1" of thick head atop a hazy bubbly body. Good retention and thick lace. S: Malty sweet with slight alcohol, spice and faint citrus. Juniper noted but subtle. T: Bitter, spicy and citrusy at once. Alcohol then follows with a sour(?) finish. M: Medium light and slick feel. Oaty, finishing kind of wet. O: Complex or muddled? Unsure but overall worth a try for something different.
