Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours black with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is wood, chocolate, bourbon, cracker. Thick body, chewy, dark chocolate, wood, roast, dry finish, good.

2 month old bottle into an IPA. A: Poured 1" of thick head atop a hazy bubbly body. Good retention and thick lace. S: Malty sweet with slight alcohol, spice and faint citrus. Juniper noted but subtle. T: Bitter, spicy and citrusy at once. Alcohol then follows with a sour(?) finish. M: Medium light and slick feel. Oaty, finishing kind of wet. O: Complex or muddled? Unsure but overall worth a try for something different.

Pour is a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is a definate juniper berry but not much else beyond that. Flavor is kind of a muddled mess. Juniper is present and there is a wee bit of rye malt but there is very little hop presence. This gets a decent score for the juniper flavor alone as not much else really stands out.

Pour is a thick looking murky brown with a small white head. Aroma is a minor oak, some caramel and maybe a little sourness as well as alcohol. Flavor is a nice fresh oak but there is a big alcohol presence after that. Finish is neither sweet or sour but there is a big warming sensation after each sip from the alcohol. I don’t get much of a tripel aspect from this, it’s more of a American strong ale with some bourbon barrel flavor.

8 week old can into a tulip. A: Deep orange hazy pour with an inch of eggshell pillowy head. Good retention and thick lacing. No bubbles visible through the haze. S: Slightly fruity, slightly boozy. Light sweet citrus and pine. T: Bitter and tart fruity hops at first sip. Some toffee follows along with a bit of pine resin. "English-y" character better done than a few others I’ve recently tried of this flavor profile. Light citrus on the end. M: Medium heft and stiff carb. Resinous finish. O: Pretty nice. Looks, smells and tastes pretty good. Worth buying at $10/6. Recommended.

Bottle [from IP trade with AlexFields, thanks!] @ home shared with Countbeer. Opaque pitch black color, average sized dark brown head that diminishes fairly quickly to a small dark brown head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, chocolate, light roast, heavy bourbon. Taste malts, soft roast, firm bourbon again, chocolate, mocha, oak, initially sweetish but ending with a nice light bitterness. Smooth texture, a bit oily, soft carbonation, medium to full body. Awesome beer. And only 9% ABV? That’s impressive. Absolutely amazing flavors. Absolutely love this beer.

High hopes for this bottle, sounds yummy from the label. Smell is mildly yeasty. Very nice witbier presentation for the eye. Virtually room temperature, but even from the taste-start I feel like this is going to be civilized and refined. Pleasant and fun with just a tiny hint of banana. I’m liking this session. Hides alky well. Some ever so mild banana perfume on the nose now. Right up there with shiner white wing and anky’s white out. Not bad! Would like another. Good, but not as good as Hoegaarden, East End Witte, Wittekerke or Blanche de Namur
