12 oz. brown bottle into a Foothills glass. 4.9% ABV A: Hazy almost greenish gold color. Inch high craggy head from a fairly gentle pour. Lots of visible carbonation. Laces in thin sheets as drunk. S: Musty funky stuff. Grapey. Dirty clothes? T: Still grapey with a slight floral hop bite. Wet cardboard maltiness. Distinctive and good. M: Fantastic fine-beaded carbonation blankets the tongue. Slightly soapy going down but almost floats down the throat. Luxurious stuff! O: Not much experience with the Kolsch style, but this is probably my favorite along with Reisdorf. This is very good and my go-to Kolsch. M.E. hit this out of the park!

Bottle at Anchorage Sept ’14 Tasting: Poured a coppery color with a white head. Aroma was strong tropical fruits and vanilla. Taste was very complex with more strong fruit, vanilla, boozy, sugary, malts. Definitely a sipping beer.

Grassy and malty aroma. Clear gold, no head or lace. Lightly sweet and light bitter. Too much carbonation, light body. Eh...

Super crisp and clear golden coloured body with a light golden hue and a thin, fast-dying single centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of corn, alcohol, yeast, lemons, grass and hay - nice and light. Light-bodied; Strong wheat and coriander seed flavours at first with some hints of yeast, curacao and full oranges. Aftertaste is relatively mild with some light sweetness and orange flavours throughout -some nice tastes, but strongish for this style. Overall, a nice beer with more of an opaque and open wheat and orange flavoured beer, showing some nice complexity and depth. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-November-2014.

Poured from a bottle it is a hazy effervescent caramel colored beer. It has the aroma of butterscotch. The taste is black licorice and a hint of peppermint that lingers on the palate

From A 75 CL bottle shared at home. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Aroma of caramel. Flavors bourbon dominate. Not finding much Belgian influence here. But pretty tasty anyway.

Bottle @ home, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a touch hazy, light yellow appearance with a white head. Aroma is very herbal and grassy with some lemon, corn, and straw. Medium light body. A little too sweet. Flavor is kind of corny and grassy with a little bit of apple. Not that great.

12oz bottle shared by Ben. Unfiltered brown black body. Malt forward, smooth and creamy, very in line with other NC beers. Doughy brown chocolate tones. Medium bodied. Very drinkable. Well executed beer.

12oz bottle at Red Hen in DC. Pours a deep brown with some creamy, thin, off white head. Nose is alright, some cocoa pods, some gristy character, a little dusty, some caramel. Flavor follows right along, sweet malt, caramel, a little cheap rootbeer, some chocolate too, light bread crust. Watery finish. Unoffensive.

Can shared at a private tasting. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of pale biscuit malt, butter, citrus hops. The taste is pale doughy malt, grassy hops. Medium bodied, low carbonation, decent balance.
