Three year old aged Toast on tap. Iโ€™ve never had this beer fresh, so I canโ€™t give a good comparison. On that topic, I would love to cure that error in my experiences. I found this aged version to be delicate and complex. The caramel malt flavor is sublime, incredible bready notes, lightly toasted (of course), mix with lingering floral hops. The feel was silky smooth and light. The beer was relatively light in color with a good head and lacing. I tried to let it warm up a bit because it was served colder than I would have preferred. It really just had one of the most tantalizing and light sweet flavor profiles that Iโ€™ve ever tasted. Excellent beer that I will be on the lookout for from now on.

From tap at Jupiter, Berkeley. Pours clear and golden orange with no head. Aroma is wooden, acidic, vague acetone and notes of overripe fruit. Sweet and fruity flavoured. Light citric note. Slowly going more acidic towards the finish. Nice sourish end.

Draft at Sonoma Wine Exchange. Pours hazy amber with a think creamy, clingy off-white head. Strong herbal aromas. Medium plus body with creamy/frothy carbonation. Very herby. Very earthy. An almost minty hint. Tends toward dry. Quite unusual. [word is it is based on mugwort and bee balm for bittering]

On tap at The Rake. Red chestnut colour, very thin head. Nutty and far too carbonated making it hard to drink, some lovely rich jammy fruit. Its a rich ESB in the malts, but not too much hops. Seeing that no hops are used, that makes sense. Fine is a bit fruity sweet.

On tap at The Rake. Pale gold, thick lasting white head. Lager malt aroma but no puke. Quite lemony. Its just a bit too lemony, trying too hard. Fine, some drinkability but just not like the real thing.
