Cask at the Toronado. Very fruity/citrusy aroma. Dark mahogany color with a decent off-white head. Medium bodied with mild, creamy carbonation. It’s a bit of roasted malt, but mostly citrus and floral hop. Very smooth. Finishes nicely bitter. Very good and flavorful.

Draft at Sonoma Wine Exchange. Nice grassy hop aroma. Light amber color with a great white head. Medium body with very creamy carbonation. Flavor of wheat and malt - very mildly sweet. The finish is malty, but dry! There’s a decent amount of floral and/or grassy hop. This could pass for an ale. It’s also a lot more complex than I’m able to describe.

Draught at Toronado, San Francisco. Clear golden, small head. Aroma of hay and bread. medium sweet with clean mouthfeel. Bready malt and dough under a blabket of hay-like hops. Salty finish. Very good flavours, but to make it really good the malt character should be softer.

I sampled both the Cascade & Chinook versions of this (they were two separate beers on draught) at Toronado in San Francisco, California. They were about the same, so here’s the overall rating: Copper coloured body with a perfect sized dense tan head. Aroma of nothing but hops - a good way to tell the difference between Chinook & Cascade is to have these side by side. Medium-bodied; Sharp pungent hoppiness in the mouth, coupled with a good malt backbone and more hoppiness to finish it out. Overall, a great sampling from these wet hopped beers - I really enjoyed the mouthful and the aroma of these. Nothing missing in my mind! I sampled both of these on draught from Toronado in SF on 27-October-2007.

On tap at Lanesplitter in Berkeley, CA. It pours a clear amber with tan head. The aroma is vaguely malty mixed with pine hops. Overall the aroma is mild. The taste is malty with crystal malts followed up by dryer roasted malts. A nice pine hop bitterness jumps in to accompany the malts. It tastes like a little brother of Stone’s ABA. I also get some mild fruitiness.
