Building on the foundations we helped to lay, a fresh approach saw the business expanding and growing. With fantastic local support, our beers were regular features on bars all over the Dales and further afield. Five years continued refinement of our core range and with sales ever increasing; our beloved Bellerby barn was bursting at the seams. We had to find pastures new.
A new home was found in Leyburn, a blank canvas, giving us the opportunity to create our perfect brewery. A state of the art, bespoke 12 brl brewplant was installed in April 2018 and we’ve been making Wensleydale’s finest here ever since.

Hazy yellow gold with a frothy/creamy white head and a soft lemony bitterness drop aroma. Light, fresh and a little creamy with light biscuit malt and soft lemony bitterness, just a little hop kick before a dry bittersweet finish

Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. There’s roasted malts and a hint of liquorice in the aroma. In the mouth it is fruity and slightly sweet though a tad watery. Flavour is cola and chocolate, some dark malts and a hint of dried fruit. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is decent enough – but I might have enjoyed it more if it hadn’t been served in such a silly glass !

Handpul cask at the Victoria Inn, Durham. Mid- to dark brown and translucent with a small beige head. Liquorice in the aroma, some chocolate notes. Sweet taste, maybe too sweet at first but a bit more balanced toward the finish. Light almost watery body with soft carbonation.

Cask @ Exchange Ale House, Bradford. Amber-brown, but more of the latter, with a head. Light malty mild, with hints of roasted dark malt in its aftertaste. Easy enough.
