Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - bright orange, like Irn Bru, in fact. Very gentle bubbles. Nose - again has a cosmetic sweetness akin to Irn Bru, which dominates apples slightly. Taste - the apples come through and have enough freshness and acidity to come through over the Irn Bru, which does add another dimension if I’m being honest. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a fresh finish, despite sweetish middle section. Overall - enjoyable if a bit quirky.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - light and clear orange. Nose - apples of course, and a dry tart red fruit note, but maybe that’s because I’m looking for it. Taste - definitely a tart red fruit in amongst the apples. Palate - light to medium bodied with a dry lean texture and a long dry finish. Overall - yeah enjoyable.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - very pale almost lemonade coloured with a slight haze. Nose - dry apples and an sour fermentation note. Taste - more sour apples dominant over fresh fruit notes. Palate - light to medium bodied with a lean tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - nice dry cider. I wasn’t sure which notes came from the medlars.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden and hazy. Nose - tart apples with a slightly farmyard note in the background. Taste - tart dry apples. Palate - light bodied with a decidedly sour mouthfeel that runs through into the dry finish. Overall - yeah decent cider. It tastes like it’s actually made from apples.
