Description
Weโ€™re the oldest brewery on the Isle of Wight and one of the first independent craft beer producers in the UK. Goddards has been brewing fine real ales in the beautiful surroundings of Barnsley Farm since 1993.

In 2025 Goddard's became a Powder Monkey Group Company.

Cask @ Akkurat. Highly drinkable, yet quite big and complex. Notes of chocolate and nougat. Refreshing grape bitterness from the hops.

On tap @ Akkurat. Honey, candy sweet tropical hoppiness, white bread. Small flowery bitterness. Light and drinkable.

Cask handpull at White Cliffs BF 2012. What I would call a winter warmer. Rich malt some biscuit some bitter hops on end touch of black pepper. Right to the style. And I do like this.

Cask @ Akkurat. Chocolate, caramel, coffee and raisin notes. A touch of clove in the aftertaste. Surprisingly enough, quite vinous. Very smooth. Highly drinkable.

Cask (Oliver Twist, Stockholm) - Copper coloured. Raisins, malt, nuts and Christmas cake in the aroma. Fruity, nutty and tangy taste with notes of dried fruit, Christmas cake and a bitter and fruity finish. Nothing outstanding, but decent enough.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 14 Jan 2012) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, orange, spices and hints of yeast. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange, apricots, a touch of yeast, slightly earthy hops and mild hints of ginger and cinnamon. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite nice.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 14 Jan 2012) Reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty, toasty nose with dark bread, raisins, caramel and toast. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, dark bread, dried fruit and toast. Medium body, with balanced sweetness and a gentle bitterness. Well balanced, tasty and quite enjoyable.

Cask (Giddy Bridge JDW, Southampton) - Dark brown with red tinges. Dried fruit, malt and Christmas pudding in the aroma. Fruity, malty and roasted taste with notes of plain chocolate and Christmas pudding detected.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear mahogany colour. Mild spicy hops on a soft yet firm slightly caramelly body. Superbly edgeless and drinkable, balanced bitterness. Excellent!

Bottle. Light honey and barley malt aroma. Amber color with small head. Lightly sweet barley malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Body on the light side. Light but tasty.
