Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small rough off-white head. Sweet, oxidized Sherry-like aroma. Medium body, caramel and toffee with a honey touch and a whiff of metal. No real bitterness. 021009

Thin coarse white head. Amber body with light carbonation. Sugary honeyish wooden aroma with watery roasty notes. Dry-sweetish watery earthy honey taste with almond and wood notes. Thinnish body. Dryish spicy plastic aftertaste. Nice, balanced, drinkable, unusual, clean. (0.33l bottle, Pivovarsky Klub, Prague.)

bottle, pours a deep golden color, with a thin white head. A nutty, strong malt aroma. Tons of malt with a fruity/sweet ending that lingers for a minute. There is almost an almond note after swallowing. Low carbonation, mellow mouth. An interesting ale, brewed by Czech monks. And interesting in the fact that it is an ale, from a lager dominate country. Easy to drink, and fairly enjoyable, but it’s aroma is lacking and light.

Bottle, 5.6%. Vinous marcipan aroma. Almost clear dark red amber colour. Small tan head. The flavour is sweet with some fruity berry and a shitload of cardboard. Strange and bad.

Bottle, ABV 5.6%. Golden amber colour, only a disappearing very soapy head after a vigorous pour. Sweet aroma of candy, honey. Flavour is candy sweet with a very thin bitter finish. Very watery and thin. Good to have a thirsty sink..

If I would have known this is a fruit beer I would not have bought it. Looked like an abbey dubbel style to me from the looks of the bottle (mine was in a brown bottle and a red label with everything written in Czech). Light amber colour, no head, almost completely flat. Aroma of artificial sweet cherry and candy (zuurtjes). Flavour is also candy cherry, and some wateriness. Body is very thin. Bad stuff.

Bottled(330ml). -Nice copper coloured, again no head, plastic and caramel nose. Sweet malty, caramel and some herbs with notes of plums and some fruits. Short metallic finish. All three Želiv beers were HUGE disappointment.
