Bomber acquired by Julie at a post-security table of KENNY & ZUKE DELI in PDF. Pours coppery gold with a bubbly/creamy white head. Aroma is floral/citrus/pear. Med body or so. Flavor is not very dry, there's detectable lightly roasty malt support, and the hops are not NW strong. Still I'm getting some hop burn, and a deal of citrus, maybe even zest, with mild floral and a hint of pear I can't escape. Not that I want to, but pear? Sort of old school in intensity, but the flavor mix is much more modern. Get it, if you see it.

Bottle from Toby's cellar. This one hasn't seen the light of day for a while. Dark amber with a small head. Aroma is malts and root beer barrels. Taste is sweet, then malty. Held up pretty well for a 10 year old bottle

12oz bottle thanks to Toby. Pours out amber cola color topped with a small head. Nose is old paper sweet malts caramel toffee. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts caramel toffee malts dead hops.

Bottle boise a deep dark mahogany a short lived quicknhead. Nice carmelized malt light brown sugar aroma. A bit him and dry on he finish but decent bitterness and well ballanced. Not bad for a macro micro.

From a can. Nose is quite citrusy, more like Fanta (not so sweet though) than a beer, lots of citrus peel character, not too pungent but still feels a bit like shandy. Taste has some malt base and then bursting with citrus and citric bitterness. Not the greatest balance and hops are not really there, adjuncts making this beer what it is. Drinks easy as expected but overall not really what I was hoping for. Below average beer, just with lots of citrus peels added.

From Jun 2007
Purchased at Poplar Wine & Spirits in Casper
This pours from 12oz bottle(best by 09082007) a clear light gold with a very large billowy head of foam that finally settles down after a few minutes to a fine broken layer with good lacing.
The smell is pretty nice. I'm getting notes of spice and a good mix of malt and bitter hops.
The taste has some biscuit malt up front and some grassy hop bitterness about midway through. The finish ends on a bitter and then slightly sour note. Interesting. It's pretty flavourful(I'm drinking it at room temp) but I don't think I could call this a session brew for me despite it's low abv. One bottle and I'm done with it for now.
Bottom line: Interesting example of the style and is worth a try.

Quite fruity, light crisp summer drinking. Not overall great beer underneath the dominant apricot though. Bottle in Berkeley ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
