Got this as I hadn’t had any North Island beers in awhile and it was on sale so I had to pull the trigger! Banana candy and cloves in the aroma and taste with a chewy body that has a crisp dry finish. Solid stuff.

(Bottle) Pours very hazy golden with small white head. Subtle pleasant citrus aroma. Medium body with good carbonation. Tangy citrus, some pepper. Very pleasant.

North Island x Gigantic Shinku Haskap Gose As a fan of collaborations and Haskap I was keen to try this Fuji to Hood beer. It’s a pretty ruby red color with virtually no foam and and a tart Haskap aroma which is like a tangy sweet cranberry. Medium to light bodied and fairly smooth with a bright tart Haskap flavor. Quite a damn nice little sour.

It’s sour. But maybe that’s it. The lack of excitement in the name is reflected in the beer. Perhaps Berliner like, it’s fine.

North island Never get old (Left) APA 5.5% 35 IBU Copper colored with dense light beige foam and a bright herbal citrusy hop bouquet. Medium bodied with somewhat rounded carbonation and woodsy herbal hop notes in the finish. Crisp and clean. Best of the set.

North island ESB 5% 30 IBU Orange with a beige head of foam, medium bodied with a bitter herbal hop bite and a biscuity caramel malt character. Solid.

North Island New Skool IPL 5.5% 15 IBU Tap at Kyoto Isetan. Bright gold with a thin film of bright white foam and a pungent fruity hop bouquet. Medium bodied with a bitter pine and more classic slightly dank hops up front but it finishes with tropical notes and even coconut in the aftertaste. Very interesting IPL that finishes crisp and dry.
