North Island Ezo Bock Helles bock 7% 10 IBU Filmy light beige head with a clear amber orange color and mild honey biscuit with mild spice aroma. The taste is sweet, light caramel, spices and hints of banana bread. Quite full bodied but nicely done, nothing really memorable about it though.

Tap at Kyoto Isetan. Deep amber orange with a fine head. Fruity, cherry, apple, honey, light citrus in the nose. Sweet malt flavor, very fruity. rich and full body. slightly waxy. Tons of citrus honey with malt and chocolate. A bit simple and somewhat ale-like but likable.

North Island Monohop Zappa Single Hop Saison 6% IBU 14 I got apples and white pepper and spicy notes so I was kind of confused until I saw it was a single hop saison! Pale straw gold with a medium body and smooth mouthfeel the taste is classic spice forward saison with apple pastry notes. A nice beer. Tap@Isetan tasting bar B1

North island White IPA 6% For a wheat beer it looks remarkably clear though the foam has good head retention. Again the aroma is very subdued and the beer feels too cold - I get fruits and eggy sulfur notes. The taste has a somewhat unappealing mineral sulfur quality, not had a beer from them in ages and this feels like they’ve gone downhill.

Tap at their beer bar. Amber-orange, almost clear. Piny nose, fruits, grapefruit and orange, caramel and butterscotch. Rich butterscotch flavor, piny resins, bitter hops. A bit rough but ok.

Tap at Source 6. Deep, cloudy brown with lace. Nose is chocolate, bread and biscuits, some caramel. Malty and rich, English esters and a bit of spicy hops. Nice malt. A bit of raspiness in the finish but decent overall.

As North Island Pink Parasol IPA Grapefruit Fruit IPA 6% Orange-pink muddy opaque pour with a dense eggshell pink foam. Nice sweetly floral and brightly citrusy aroma. Medium bodied with fairly rounded carbonation. The taste is sweet grapefruit then dank woodsy pine, then back to grapefruit. Quite bitter but good.

North Island Pilsner 5% 23 IBU Straw gold, soapy eggshell white foam that leaves lots of Belgian lace and a soft herbal and crackery pale malt aroma. Soft mouthfeel and medium to light body. The taste is bitter herbal hops upfront then a touch of grassy hay and pale malts. Clean and refreshing.
