lovely, fragrant, sweet and tart nose of grapefruit, pears and muscat and coriander. Nice nose. Modestly tart, dry, tons of pears and muscat with some coriander. The sweetness balances things. Nice stuff though not mind blowing

Tap at Vend. Toasty malt nose, caramel, citrus. Cloudy brown-orange with a fine, thick head. Big hop flavor, fresh citrus, orange and grapefruit, light caramel but solid overall malt. Nice strong, hoppy amber. I wonder how this is related to the India Brown they used to make...

very turbid golden amber color. I just get white, green and orange gummy bears in that sweet nose. Liquid adult candy. Big buscuit, over ripe mango, white gummy bears and low carbonation with very low bitterness . Super juicy. Wonderful mouth feel. One of the better NE IPAs in Japan.

Tap at Asahiya. Dark black, hazy, low lacy head. Spicy chocolate nose, bit of citrus, mostly creamy chocolate and Belgian yeast spiciness. Smooth, rich, sweet, lots of chocolate and spice. Works well. Very much the Belgian stout.

Tap at Before 9. Deep amber color, clear. Nose is caramel malt and some grassy hops. Sweet, malty, caramel, peaches, bread. A bit oily. Not much in the way of hops. Nice enough at first but gets cloying and boring. Probably an ale take on an Oktoberfest.

Very hazy amber golden color. Frothy white head. Very juicy, dank, nose with lots of red and white gummy bears. Easy drinking, low carbonation, low bitterness, juicy mouth. Could use more carbonation. Dank. Nice stuff without going to the next level. Highly drinkable

Tap at Molto. Nose is nice. Orange, mango, pineapple. Big and juicy. Deep golden-orange, cloudy, low thick head. Sweet and juicy, no bitterness. Fruity juice is nice enough but it disappears without a whisper. There is none of the hop spiciness that makes one of these great. Finish dies, otherwise pretty good.

Tap at Yellow Ape's 5th Anniversary, 700yen a half-pint. I am pretty sure this is a NE IPA style beer and I found it easily comparable in quality to Kagami-Biraki from Shiga Kogen. Opaque gold with a thick soapy white head and a tropical plus prickly pear aroma. Medium to light bodied and dry. This is a crisp clean beer bursting with flavor. Great!
