Description
Wisconsin Dells Brewing Co. is housed on the 3rd level of Moosejaw Pizza in Wisconsin Dells. The only female Brewmaster in Wisconsin, Jamie Baertsch has 10 brews & 3 sodas on tap at all times!

5 of our beers (Honey Ale, Rustic Red, Relaxin' Raspberry, Kilbourn Hop Ale & Hazel's Nut House Ale) are available year-round. We then have 5 more taps that rotate between selected seasonal & specialty beers such as the Apple Ale, Weissbier, Pumpkin Ale, Cherry Ale, Oktoberfest, Oak Barrel Aged Porter, Stand Rock Bock, IPA, Milk Stout & Winter Warmer. Within the first year of brewing, the Dunkel Lager attained a Silver Medal in the European-Style Dark/Munchner Dunkel category at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival. This was followed up in 2003 with another Silver Medal this time in the Bock Beer-Style category for Blonde Bock. We returned to the GABF in 2008 & brought home another Silver Medal in the Scottish-Style Ale category for our Rustic Red! Talk about fresh...you can enjoy any (or all!) of our brews & sodas at any of the 3 full service bars located in Moosejaw Pizza. We also have 1/2 gallon growlers, 12oz. bottles & 16oz. cans to go!

Sampler @ the brewpub. I would not call this red, but more of a dark copper/brown color. Aroma is very woodsy and dry, lightly burnt malts in there as well. Taste chugs along with a dry burnt wood and a long roasted aftertaste. Damn roasted, clean otherwise, and easy gulping. Not enough good Viennas like this out there.

Sampler @ the brewpub. It is black with a sticky tan lacing. Aroma is rich with chocolate and lots of coffee-like fumes. Almost a berry-like sweetness coming through as well. Taste is nicely dried out (the biggest impact of the barrel that I noticed) and a burst of bitter and rich chocolate at the end. Very flavorful and easy drinking (loving the medium abv as well). Its full of many different aspects that meld well together.

Another form Skyview. A little sweet with some salt. Lots of malt, with sugar and grain. Light red color. Low carbonation.

Thanks to Skyview for this one. It is probably the best thing I have had from Moosejaw. Very dark and a thin head. It should probably be classified as a smoke beer because the smoke is prominent in the aroma and flavor. There is also lightly roasted malt and it is mildly bitter. Very well done.

From Skyview. A dry, malty porter. Thick, but fairly plain flavor without anything special. It does have moderate roasted malt, and a very good, heavy palate. Dry finish.

Thanks to Skyview for this one. One of Moosejaw’s best products. The aroma has abundant nutmeg and cinnamon. Cloudy brown color and fairly thin body that is fine for this style. Malt and sugar in the flavor as well as more cinnamon and mild pumpkin pie flavor.

The aroma has wheat and bubblegum. Flavor is lightly sweet, light citrus, and a little sour. Cloudy but no visible sediment. It could be a little thicker on the palate.

The aroma has lemon. Very light apple, barely there at all. A little sour in the finish. Thanks to Skyview for sharing. Not much of a fruit beer.

Shared by Skyview. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Thick on the palate, medium bitter roasted malt and more coffee but not especially intense. Very little carbonation. A fine beer, but I’m not sure about this being an imperial.

From Skyview’s growler. One of the better bocks I have had anywhere. Tons of vanilla in the aroma, and sweet malt is a secondary though. A light orange, cloudy appearance. Flavor has caramel, sweet malt, and more vanilla. Thick and heavy on the palate.
