Aroma of malt, yeast and blackcurrant. A thick, creamy head, disappearing fast. Tart, yeasty taste with blackcurrant, chocolate and apple. Highly carbonated, prickly mouthfeel. A vinegar-like sourness has come up and will develop further. Disappointing for a bockbeer.

Hoparoma, slightly citric. Big foamy head. Yeasty, hoppy, citric flavor. Very good lacing. Much better as many other Leckere beers. 7 4 6 2 13 = 3.2 Bottled as Leckere no. 3 blond. White bottle. Orange color, no head. Fruity (melon, orange), grainy aroma. Walnut and earthy bitter flavor. The change between the fruity aroma and the bitter flavor is too abrupt. The fruit however makes a quiet return in the aftertaste.

Fruity aroma (citrus), flowery, herbal and yeasty. Much yeast in the taste, herbal, grapes. A bit tart. Dry for a Belgian wheatbeer. A bit watery, almost no finish, but very refreshing.

2002 version. Tiny bits of yeast float through this beer. No head. Portoaroma. Yeasty raisinny flavor, very alcoholic and prickly with porto and some tropical fruit. Poor quality compared to the great Belgian strong ales ( 6 2 6 2 10 = 2.6) 2006 version: reddish orange color. Malty, syrupy aroma with a hint of licorice. malty, suagry sweet flavor. Distant hops and a hint of lciorice. The alcohol is hidden by the sweetness. Chewing gum. Nice, clean, inoffensive, powerful and likeable barley wine. The quality of this beer has improved considerably over the years.
