The beer is very dark and has very little foam. Herb-malty I would call it honest and slightly spicy hoppy. O.K.

The wheat is slightly fruity. The drinkability is not as pronounced. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. A wheat, like this do not like. Not my case!

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Looks old-styled, but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Starts strong, malty, quite dry, a bit woody. Finish a bit unbalanced, still with woody-dry notes, soft alcoholic touch. Average...

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Starts malty and dry, roasty, a bit smoky, some sourish notes. Finish well balanced, still smoky, a bit too sourish, but still very drinkable. Good schwarzbier!

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass very zippy, not very turbid, huge head. Starts mild, hoppy-yeasty, a bit moldy. More and more spicy notes, also a bit wheaty. Sweet background. Well balanced finish, quite drinkable. Not bad!

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Looks simple, but good, a bit old. Beer in the glass not too zippy, small head. Starts mild, malty-wheaty, a bit bready. More and more spicy, only light hoppy notes in the background. Finish still mild, spicy, modest sweet, very drinkable. Unusual for a pils, but still good!

Bottle (von VEB Quack-Duck): Pale golden, cloudy, some clumps visible, mid-sized - slowly diminishing - off-white head; sourish-wheaty nose with lemons and cloves; moderate sweet-sourish flavour with a slight tartness, light bodied; lemony flavours dominate the sourish-wheaty finish. Still O.K., a bit on the sour side......

Bügelverschlußflasche vom Quack-Duck! : Pale golden, a bit unclear, bigger fluffy white head; grassy hoppy and fruity-yeasty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied, a bit fizzy; slightly lingering (infected) fruity and hoppy finish. Surely already infected, deserves a second chance.....
