Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours bright gold with a white head. Strawberry wafts from the pour. From the glass more so. Near med body. Flavor is a decent strawberry. Hints of malt and more than that of wheat. Fruity, but not very dry or bitter. Decent fruit beer.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 9/29/2018. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus peel, sea salt, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of lime peels, salt, pale malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus peel, sea salt, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, spicy, citrus peel bitterness; and light citrus tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart limes, lemon, citrus peel, sea salt, cracker, white bread dough, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of lime peels, salt, pale malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance; and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no yeast notes present. Moderate increasing dryness from bitter/tartness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly saline/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an excellent fruited pale lager! All around great robustness and balance of lime peels, salt, pale malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Perfectly balanced pils malt, lime peel, and salt; with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. This is the best lager I've had from them. The citrus complements perfectly, and not overwhelming on salt. A very enjoyable offering, and awesome style example. Perfect for summer.

I always liked shiner beers so I was looking forward to this bottle. I was hoping for something like a gose when I saw this. Not much aroma to speak of. Clear pale with an ever so slight haze. Yes, first taste, so its not really a gose. It is a gentle lager with a little lime flavor. Not really sure that I can pick out the salt, but I guess its there hiding in the background. Has a little bit of lime rind bitterness in there as well. Overall, a gentle beer with some citrus rind in the background. Not a gose by any stretch of the imagination. Oh well. Still, overall, not bad.

12oz bottle. Really quite a solid offering, drinks in the Grisette vein. Pale tan-brown-orange body. Foamy, glass lacing, white head. Really streamlined, smoothed out, and drinkable..which is something most brewers who are inclined to brew a Grisette aren't quite capable of. Supreme balance. Great beer.

Twist off bottle. Pale yellow. Smell is a little rye with some of gramma's old style permanent hair treatment. First let me say this is nothing like a saison, so I find the farmhouse moniker somewhat misleading. Yes, there is rye background, which almost somewhat comes across like a dull IPA. Pretty good carbonation. In the end its a rather medium rye beer that is not as offensive as most. Another decent medium mild offering of a rude style from an interesting brewery, JMHO.

Can from a United Airlines flight. Clear amber body with a medium beige head that fades. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of wood, rusted metal and brown sugar. Flavour of stewed tea, toffee and nuts. Thin body with a watery texture. Light fizz. Mild but balanced. It’s strange that the can doesn’t show the ABV.

Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, pear, red apple, peppercorn, clove, wheat, spicy rye, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, wheat/rye malts, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, red apple, peppercorn, clove, wheat, spicy rye, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/rye spiciness and herbal/grassy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, pear, red apple, peppercorn, clove, wheat, spicy rye, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, wheat/rye malts, and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and minimal astringent flavors after the finish. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is a good saison. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, wheat/rye malts, and earthy hop flavors; smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink. Not very complex on the saison yeast, but well balanced between all flavors. A nicely enjoyable offering.
