500ml bottle from the Scottish Real Ale Shop. Pours clear dark brown, no head. Aromas are light liquorice, light dark chocolate, cocoa powder in fact. Taste is sweet toffee. Thin body, short finish. Passable.

500ml bottle from the Scottish Real Ale Shop. States bottle conditioned, but pours clear as a bell with no sediment in the bottle. Pours clear brown, no head. Aromas are light chocolate and nuts, some caramel. Taste is more of the same, but thin and watery. Ah - TSA, that explains that then.

500ml bottle from the Scottish real ale warehouse. Pours clear pale gold, short-lived thin white head. Light citrus aromas, not much else. Taste is light bitter, thin and watery. Ok.

On cask at the Lade Inn. Appearance - opaque black with a nice head. Nose - roast aromas with gentle chocolate and toffee. Taste - creamy gentle chocolate and toffee. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry finish. Overall - decent but Nose better than Taste.

On cask at the Lade Inn. Appearance - amber toffee with a nice head. Nose - toffee and honeycomb maybe some chocolate. A bit Crunchie Bar. Taste - more toffee and some biscuits with just a hint of chocolate. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - good Bitter.

On cask at the Lade Inn. Appearance - hazy golden with a proportionate head. Nose - honey and lemon with something floral but cardboard and butterscotch notes lurking too. Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, light earthy, chocolate, malt and hops.
