Pours an attractive stout look seeming totally opaque with semi firm mocha head and spotty lacing. The aroma is light and comes across as a bit strange for the style. I get dark roasty malts and an equal level of earthiness mixed with carrots mixed and notes of alcohol. The flavor has lots of tasty rich roasted malts, chocolate malts and burnt malts. Then fresh cucumber and chocolate covered malts balls seem to rise up out of nowhere. Midway and to the finish the chocolate, burnt and roasty malts come together for a pleasing end and after taste mixing with a mild tart malt astringency.

[Bottle, Tasting @ Papsoe] Clear brown with large light brown head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, chocolate and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, smoke, caramel and chocolate notes. Ends sweet.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of markgugs. Slightly hazy reddish brown with a bubbly, beige head. Lightly nutty aroma. Medium body with a heavy carbonation and notes of wood and some burned malts. A wee smoked peaty whiff also. The finish is dry. 260208

12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a dense tan head. Mild caramel malt aroma, sweet. Starts light sweet caramel flavoured, shows a nice fruity note and a following light smoked and roasted flavour. Lingering roasted and light smoked finish.

Thanks to EDA for sharing - Wow, even the name of this stuff sucks - clear gold - alcoholic aroma, with medium honey sweetness and not much else - apples and alcohol in the flavor - some dry white wine character tries to make it interesting, but this is mostly astringent and medicinal.

Tap at HDG - hazy copper beer - aroma of apple skins, candi sugar, peaches - tastes of vanilla, honey, wildflowers, light graininess - very sweet, and lacking the complexities I expect from the style - lavender comes through a bit as it warms - if it weren’t so sweet it would be great.

On tap at Reno’s West, Lansing. Pretty standard offering, similar to several of Dragonmead’s other hoppy beers, but with less malt emphasis, instead focusing on the grassy, medicinal hops. Light-bodied and smooth.

This ale poured a nice dark copper colour with a qiuckly disappearing head. To the nose there was scents of hops, sour grapes/citric acid and sweet malt. First sip was nice and alot less bitter than I expected due to the hopps in the nose. Very floral flavour with a hoppy finish and the palate was bitter sweet with the floral/hopp flavour lasting. Better than expected.

Nice appearance. Dark brown body with big, tan head. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel, raisin and brown sugar. The flavor is lightly bitter and moderately sweet. Medium body. Sweet finish with a slight tartness. Full mouthfeel. Above average.

After drinking dozens of American IPAs that are filled with citrusy hops, this IPA is refreshingtly different. It is a sweet IPA balanced with floral hops. Murky copper pour with a pleasing, big off-white head. Aroma of flowers and caramel. with the slightest hint of citrus and pine. The flavor is mostly sweet and balanced by a light to moderate bitterness. Medium to full body. Minimal carbonation. Somewhat sticky body. Long finish of floral hops and caramel sweetness. Well balance and nicely crafted.
