650 ml bottle. Pours black with light tan head. Aromas of bacon, cardboard, and licorice. Flavor of fatty smoked bacon, green wood, and black coffee. Interesting and odd. Ingredients indicates white oak. Ingredients? Meaning someone added oak to the brew? Anyways, several negative reviews but for Dead Frog I’d lean on the positive, interesting side. Worth working on this one...

Had this again and glad to report that it's improved a lot. Maybe I had an infected bottle. This one tastes smokey with some tobacco. A little dark chocolate. Bitter finish. Not a perfect beer still but not bad. Bitter end. Jesus, this is probably the worst imperial stout I’ve had to date. I wish I’d read the reviews before I spent $9 on a bottle of this trash. That’s supposed to be what ratebeer is about...making good purchasing decisions. Really just like black twizzlers thrown into a blender with some booze and water. Same cloying flavor. If they took out the alcohol and sold this at movie theatres as a candy drink for kids it might just work. Otherwise there’s going to be a lot more drainpours. Three for three so far by the looks of it. Bomber.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with medium head. Aromas of grapefruit, toasted malts, and rubber. Flavors of bitter pine and maybe a bit of spice and citrus. Yep, way off balance and I didn’t get the Belgian influence.

Poured from 341mL bottle. Dark brown with minimal beige head. Nutty roasted malt aroma. Light body, nutty, roasted flavour with hint of caramel.

Sparkling amber, small beige head.Nose of brown sugar, fruity notes.Palate seems to be all hop flavor, no noticeable malt.Bitter end of harsh alcohol and hops seems out of place. Nothing seems to mesh.

Poured dark amber/brown colour with next to no head. Head soapy in consistency. Scents include nuts, coffee, dough and roasted malts. First taste was thin but bold with roasted flavors. Finished weak with a little nut flavor and toast.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, citrusy hops, and a slight metallic tone. Flavour brings out Belgian yeast, resinous hops, some slight metallic notes (but not really that bothersome), and some caramel malt. Great balance of IPA and Belgian notes. Definitely one of Dead Frog's best, in terms of complexity. Very enjoyable.
