Handbottle from Hellomynameis; Nose of coffee, smoke, and chocolate; opaque black with a small cinnamon head; flavor of coffee, roastiness, a little chocolate and raisins, from the medium body with a tiny hop finish.

I don’t get the American strong category, because it just isn’t that strong. But good anyway. Fairly well hopped nose with some citrus and pine. Flavor has a biscuit-bread quality from the malt and considerable hop bitterness. One of their better recent beers. Gold color, moderate head.

sampled at DLD - This amber colored brew has a very good citrus hops aroma. The flavor is a well balanced blend of citrus and pine hops flavors supported by some caramel malts. Medium bodied, this beer finishes with the expected lingering hops bite. Very good IPA.

It is indeed an orange colored beer. Flavor has light cherry. Well carbonated but light overall. The flavor has sweetness that tastes like sugar, but there is some sour cherry as well. There is more flavor from the sweetness than the actual fruit. Sour finish.

Enjoyed at Town Hall on 4/30/07. This is a a break from the usual for Town Hall. The aroma of this beer is fairly light on the hops. There is rotting fruit, and some hops. There is also something here that doesn’t smell so good, but I can’t nail down exactly what it is, but what is more weird is it works with the beer overall. Flavor is bone dry. This is not excessively hopped, but what is there is bitter, and a light flavor of lemongrass enhances this dryness. Overall I like it; I am always happy to see Town Hall do something different. This beer could use some adjustment, but overall it is good.

I’m surprised by the low ratings. First, this is without a doubt a pale ale. This beer is very heavily hopped and I was thinking of Masala Mama while drinking it. Amber color, and that is the only thing amber about this beer. Bitter, but good hop flavor. Very heavily carbonated, and shot lived but tall white foam on top of the beer. A winner from Town Hall. I suggest a change to APA.

The only milds I have had are from Town Hall and Great Waters, so I’m not sure what I should look for. But this beer is mild for sure. Black with a light amber tint. Very smooth and great palate. Light grain flavor and aroma. This goes down very easy, and I have had few session beers that fit the description so well.

This is good. Brown? No; too much hop character for a brown. More IPA than brown. The hop aroma is strong and herbal. Flavor is bitter, herbal hops, balanced with sweet malt. Brown color and a thick head. One of Town Hall’s better beers in some time.

Gold color. A thin and light pale ale, and rather disappointing when they have several session beers in the regular rotation, and then go to the trouble of making another light beer. Some hops, clearly a pale ale, lightly bitter hoph aroma and hop flavor.

The original saison wasn’t very good and the barrel has definitely helped. It has a good aroma. Yeast, oak, light fruit. Strange flavors, which I guess is OK for a saison. Some citrus, a little more wheat, and a sour bite at the end. Some oak, but I don’t taste any wine at all. The beer is gold colored and clear, and there is a moderate head. Body is a little thin.
