On tap at Pony Bar. Poured a clear gold with a slight green tint, visible carbonation and no head whatsoever. Aroma had notes of dry and sweet pear with a bit of a sugary syrup note. A bit syrupy with sweet pear and a hint of dry pear underlying. A bit sweet for my liking.

A 12oz bottle from Pick’s Liquors poured into a shaker. No head, but the liquid is a faint yellow, almost clear. Very bubbly. The aroma is good, like fresh cut granny smith apples. Taste is lightly sweet and medium sour. It’s light bodied with a thin texture, fizzy carbonation and a average length sour finish. Overall, it’s a pretty good cider. Usually something like this would give me gut rot but I have a feeling I could drink a 6-pack and still be ok. It would also be perfect for sitting outside on a hot summer day. I’ll be buying this one again!

A light yellow perry with strong chemical pear extract, a bit cloying and fake. In mouth, a pop Dennis nectar like drink, pear pulp in finale, very boring. Bottled, at ROC Empire Brewfest, Feb. 19 2011.

A pale yellow cider, bubbly, with a surprisingly interesting aroma of sour apples, a bit of earthy, a bit earthy and gueuzy. In mouth, a sweet apple juice with light earthy lactic points, a bit light but decent. Bottled, at ROC Empire Brewfest, Feb. 19 2011.

More six pack of crap madness. "Bottled in Colifax, CA" - That’s a lot of back & forth. DFH tumbler. Major effervescence. Continuously streaming bubbles. Faint white head. Champagne color. Smell is sweetened pear concentrate & banana esters; perfumey. Pretty typical. It smells like confectionery sugar. Taste is nearly a total 180. Very reserved in comparison. Moderate flash of tartness upfront, slight banana-ish sweetness, with an even less of a splash of pear, watered down house wine, & yeast. Quite yeasty. Grainy finish. Sulfites are too upfront. They kill any chance this had. Crazy carbonated. I can still feel it sizzling half way down.

Bottle. Interesting to note that the cider and perry I am trying side by side are bottled at different places (FL and CA respectively). Clear yellow to green pour, no head. The color of very dehydrated urine. Not much visible carbonation. Nose of light sulfur and muted apples. Light smokiness (phenolic). Taste is a bit on the sweet side but better than 95% of commercial ciders sold in six packs. Doesn’t seem very back sweetened at all (THANK GOD!). Candied apple, dryness, medium to light bubbles, very mild acidity. Pretty clean, albeit boring. Glad to see a mass produced honest cider!

Bottle. Pours with a super pale, clear body, with no real head to speak of. Aroma is not bad surprisingly. Decently ripe pear, some acidity, a bit of spring water, champagne and honey. A little bit estery in the finish. Surprisingly not super sweet smelling. Taste is fresh pear, a bit of shampoo, car seat cleaner, mildly acidic beginning. Long duration of suntan lotion. Watery, really not offensive.
