About
Wharfedale Brewery, housed in a barn at the back of the Flying Duck in Ilkley, is the third brewery to take the Wharfedale name since the orginal one was founded in Wetherby as long ago as 1756.

The brewery now predominantly produces beers for the Flying Duck, pubs throughout Wharfedale, a small number of other carefully selected local hostelries, local beer festivals and private party events, where you can rent a cask of your favourite beer.

Initial beers which appeared in 2012 were brewed at Five Towns awaiting the finishing of the refurbishment of the pub. The brewery behind the pub opened in mid-2013.

Cask at Sheffield Tap. Pours gold with a white cap. Aroma: pale malts, biscuit, citrus. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, smooth, towards dry. Medium body with soft carbonation. There is a fresh, drying bitterness to this from the off. Quite hoppy, citrusy throughout, refreshing and easy drinking. Very pleasant.
