A golden ale with a thin white head. A light caramel malt, with very herbal hops, light Belgian ale notes. In mouth, a crisp malt with pungent hops, light caramel, slight signs of oxidation. Medium bodied. Tasted around Jan 2007.

Pours light brown with off white head. Strong aroma of bourbon. The flavors of bourbon, vanilla, and wood from the barrels blended nicely. There is a slight burn of alcohol. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation. Pretty good brew.

Cask. Dark brown with tiny off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and chocolate notes. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, caramel, coffee and chocolate notes. Sweet roasted finish.

Bomber pours a translucent, copper amber color with a creamy, slightly off white head that coated the edges of the glass with fine bubbles. Even with a nose severely handicapped by allergies I could detect a strong malty aroma that smelled very sweet but also hinted to some biscuit as well and just a touch of tropical fruits. For me, the flavor was a bit of a let down from the aroma. Malty and dry with some caramel and biscuit and a more roasted flavor than one might anticipate. Finish is clean. Good session beer and definitely worth the money ($4.99 at Charles St. Liquors in Boston).

This beer is labeled as a barley wine! The label looks just like the one shown here but it says barleywine instead of strong ale. It has got to be one of the strongest fruit beers I’ve ever tasted. Acquired in a trade with RCL. Very tart raspberry aroma. Attractive reddish orange appearance. It is mouthwatering before you taste it. Medium bubbly alky brew slaughters the palate. Decent carbonation for a BW. Strongish kick ass flavors. Difficult at times. Dull raspberry indication. Quite unique. Thanks for the chance to taste this unique brew. Ray, I owe you one.

Got this bomber in a trade with RCL. Great deal! Nice hazy pale yellow almost vanilla color. A nearly fruity slag aroma. Very nice very clean initial flavor. Hay straw and lots of outback in the field attributes. Cannot detect much initial offensiveness but as the session continues there seems to be an attempt to build some bitter ale character. This however fades at the conclusion of each swallow. Has an interesting evolution of flavor, in waves. Has more personality than I care for in a session brew but it is yet enjoyable and friendly. Easy drinking and repeatable lighter brew. 22 oz is just about the right amount for one serving. Kind and gentle, all the way to the last drop. Certainly more personality than pale lagers yet can do this without being offensive. Nearly wheatbeir at times.
