Black cokor, thick nitro head. No aroma, smooth mouthfeel, roasted malt flavor and bread crust, dry finish. Very good Stout, although the nitro seems to muffle some elements.

Amber color, clean. The aroma is too light, almost nothing. The flavour is biscuity, bready, with a hint of smoke, but the mouthfeel is too dry; it's clean but there's not much here.
Ok beer.

Draught at the brewpub
Amber color, clean. Solid caramel base with light bready notes, and a hint of roasted malts in the background, bold structure but just light residual sweetness, the alcohol is a bit too evident, the aroma is too light.
An imperial amber ale; having tasted this just after the Resurrection Scottish Ale, it tastes like an imperial version of it. Good.

On tap at Yaletown, pours black with a creamy brown head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt upfront, with a touch of dry cocoa in there. Flavour is fairly hearty, with oatmeal, bitter dark cocoa, light roast and a bitter metallic character. Smooth on the palate, due to the nitro, but rather bitter and metallic. Okay.

On nitro tap at Yaletown, pours black with a medium creamy tan head. Aroma brings out a very hearty roasted malt character, with some oatmeal and light dry coffee. Flavour is very hearty, with big oatmeal and roasted malt upfront, transitioning to a bitter coffee finish. Robust indeed, with a thick, hearty mouthfeel. Very nicely done.

On tap at Yaletown, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma brings out traces of butter all over, not detecting much else. Flavour is fruity, with the diacetyl slightly more subdued, followed by fruity hops and some pine. The diacetyl is thankfully much more nuanced on the flavour, but it's still noticeable and off-putting to my sensitive palate. This needs cleaning up.

On tap at Yaletown, pours a clear copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma reveals herbal notes, toasted nuts and biscuity malt. Flavour is robust, with sweet bready malt, light herbal notes and toasted nuts. Sweet and malty without anywhere close to cloying. Robust and with lots of character. Really good.

On tap at Yaletown, pours a clear copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals piney hops and biscuity malt in good balance. Flavour is crisp, with a nice dry piney hop character and a crisp crackery malt backbone. Dry and robust, with just enough hop oils on the palate. Excellent.
