Hazy golden weizen with a thin dissipating white head. Light banana and cloves in aroma. In mouth, oily mothfeel, with light bubblegum, bananas, and cloves. Medium bodied. Honest little weizen for the summer. June 18, 2006.

Re-rate from tap in Revelstoke: 6 5 7 3 14 Pretty dark Amber, golden lace Toffee malt, light minerally, grassy and fine aromatic hops. Medium light body, mellow mouthfeel. Light fruity and salty finish-moreish Old rating: 7 4 8 3 14 Bottle. Very caramelly/butterscotch aroma. Nice chestnut colour, low head. Light chocolaty flavor, stron caramel, light roast. Good body, slightly sticky mouthfeel. Is this really a pale ale?

(Bottle 65 cl) Very pretty, clear amber with a vaguely off-white head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with fruity notes and some caramel malt. Lightly hoppy, dry finish. Not exactly a "big" beer, but incredibly pleasant. Thanks to presario for this. 010506

Bright amber colour. Light hints of honey and caramel in the aroma. Sweet with light flowery (clove, lavender) character and a cool, honeyish snappiness. Well-made take on a limited concept.

Deep black stout with a thick moka head. Bitter chocolate in aroma, restrained and some burned coffee beans. In mouth, sweet cold coffee, sweetish chocolate and light hops, medium bodied, honest stout. Hardlly noticed the cherries.

2004 bottle shared with the Montreal crew on 11/6/05. Pours a clear muted orange-amber with some drab olive-like brown notes as well. Beige head fizzles rapidly to ring, with no lacing. Aroma has your typical smoke and phenols nose, like you get in the Schlenkerlas, though the smoke is dryer, more thin, and not even a tenth as powerful or rich. But it’s there. Some salty, lightly chocolatey roast, no hops or alcohol. In the flavor, the smoke seems fairly tame, only adding a bit of dry charred wood, a hint of smoked gouda and plenty of sweet, creamy sugars, light milk chocolate and a watered down roastiness. Very simple, waxing too sweet, with the smoke character beginning to dry on the finish and then a sudden kick of blandish, almost dirty/earthy yeast. Very loose consistency, thinned out but yet the carbonation is sharp and prickly. Loose texture with a sharp carbonation is about as disconcerting a combination as you can get. Reminds me considerably of Alaskan Smoked Porter. Sanitation and bottling needs work.

Hazy gold,small fast fading white head.Nose of cloves,bananas.Very thin, yeasty with light banana and cloves. Decent flavor, but one of the more watery,thin beers I have yried.

Very short-lived yellowish head; colour as hazy Coca-Cola. Heavy cake nose; with zoete drop (kind of liquorice sweet), faint grapey and distinctly vinous, with a dry-hoppy finish. Some dark fruit aromas, as dried prunes. Very dry, dusty and malty taste. Annoyingly one-sided main taste, with some tantalising side-glimpses of what this might have become as a Barley wine at 8.5%. No more hops, virtually no more fruit, absolutely no more wine. "Dusty" is more than an impression, it’s a MF component, like swallowing a decomposed sponge or a chewed-up gum. Very exciting nose, vey dull-sweet taste. Oakes will be getting his crusade against browns together, this way. All the same, thanks for bringing, Mike.

Cloudy yellow. Aroma is wheaty, dusty, and lightly banana-ish. Sweet, creamy body. Flavour is wheaty, slightly sweaty yeast, hints of banana. Excellent structure, medium body...I hope they release it because it rivals Yaletowns’s for best BC hefe I’ve had. Postscript: The bottles both in 2005 and 2006 have not lived up to this initial draught sample. They’ve been in the 3-3.2 range.

Bottle Pours a light gold with a small off white head and very little lacing. Arom was light plain and almost pilsner like. Light grains and pale malts and nothing very interesting. Some slightly sweet notes like honey in the flavor with a hay/grass taste. Soft carbonation and a light grain after taste. Thanks again to Buck Dich for sharing
