Mellow malt background and smooth smokiness - just let it wash over you as you enjoy your breakfast.

Very dark brown colour. Dry, very light fruit notes, mellow roastiness. Fairly full body. Malty accent and I don’t get any cherries at all. Chocolatey, in a word.

Blonde, bright. Very sweet. Fresh grain taste, not much hop, quick finish. Basically, this really doesn’t have near enough hop to be kolsch, but worse it doesn’t have enough hop to be a balanced golden ale. It’s almost candyish.

Re-rateGold colour, not much carbo. Aroma is slightly sweaty, a little fuggley, with light biscuit. Body is moderate, with light hints of hop. Malts are a little undefined.
Full gold colour and insistent sparkle, a soft nose showing floral malt, spicy yeast and lemony, herbal hoppiness. A fairly smooth, gently sweet palate has some further herbal notes and delicate hop in its honey-like finish. An excellent example of the style.

Toasty, somewhat woody brown ale with good malt in the palate, but a fairly quick finish.
