12oz bottle poured into a 4oz taster cup. Pours a pale clear gold with minimal head. Aroma of sugar and pear with some light citrus fruit. Taste is medium sweet. Lots of pear and crisp tropical fruit. Light bodied and light textured. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not too bad. I won’t be buying this one though.

On tap. Pours with a hazy, murky, pale yellow body with a minimal (as expected) head. Aromas are sweet, pear, jasmine, buttery, sugar, and light wine notes. Taste is sweet, buttery, jammy fruit, deep pear notes (very concentrated) and vanilla. Light carbonation. Juicy and a little spicy.

Tap @ Flying Saucer KC. Light, clear yellow appearance with no head retention. Real, sweet pear, light vinous nose. Delicious, rich, sweet, part juice flavor with a bit dry finish. Best perry I’ve ever had though I’ve only had a couple.

Growler from Whole Foods Market Glen Allen shared at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 7/16/11. Pours a very pale yellow color with a fizzy head that fades quickly. Aroma of faint pears, some apple notes, wood and faint floral notes. The taste is grainy pear notes, wine notes and wood. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle. My first Perry. Very pale, white-yellow. No head, some carbonation bubbles on the bottom of the glass. Some sweet candied pear aroma, but not that intense. The taste is rather thin, sort of spritzer-like. An interesting palate cleanser, very mild and inoffensive. The pear comes out more as it approaches room temperature. OK.

Bottle via New Beer from my traditional mix a six crap rate pack. Ommegang anniversary glass. Sizzling champagne effervescence in place of any noticeable head. High-def clarity & vibrancy. Pale straw color. Smells a whole lot like banana pudding & bubblegum. Not sure if that’s avoidable. A twinge of pear concentrate & powdered sugar. Bit of agave. Smells less false the more you sit with it. Juice is much more restrained then the smell thankfully. Honest pear flavor, less banana, & minor amounts of plastic & clove. No crazy perfumes or false tannins. Bit of grape juice & savignon blanc. Citric bite turns softly sweet at the finish, but not before the sulfites become noticeable(decent penalty for that). Alcohol draws continuously & doesn’t mass itself for an attack at any point. Enough carbonation here & there to keep it right in between free-flowing & creamy in texture. For six pack stuff, this is nice.
