Rich hazy muddied brown coloured body with a thin deep tan head about two centimetres thick. Aroma of earth, pungent dry and herbal hops, some alcohol and a few hints of sugars. Medium-bodied; Great balance of hops and dry malt with an emphasis on the hops - very nicely layered throughout with some good sweetness and twangs of earth. Aftertaste is nice with a bitterness flavour from the hops and some smooth sugars at the tail end. Overall, a nice beer with an emphasis on the hops and a good balance throughout! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon a few hours ago on 07-December-2013 for US$4.99 sampled in my hotel room here in Portland just an hour or two later on 07-December-2013.

Robert brought this one back from a trip to Spokane Washington. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy yellow color with a huge creamy yellow-whit head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was chamomile, ginger powder, wheat, dry malts and perfume. The flavor was ginger powder, chamomile, tart citrus, perfume and had a musty presence. Medium length musty finish of ginger, chamomile and perfume. Medium body. Decent.

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Sweet dark malt nose, some milky cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, sugary milk cocoa, light alcohol, some berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, sugary malts, bread, some sweet chocolate. Simple but decent for the style.

Draught at Mckay’s Taphouse, Bellingham
Cloudy light amber color. The aroma is fruity, nice. The mouthfeel is lean, with caramel flavor and strong earthy/manure character; correct bitterness.
It’s an earthy IPA, good.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark amber with a slight beige head that left quickly. Aroma is a bit citrus/tart/earthy. Med body. Well, it’s certainly not a standard malty amber. It has some citrus, and a bit of earthy tartness. Nice. Could be a bit more earthy/tart, but I suppose the resort can’t pour something as extreme as real French beer.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed brown hued body with a small tan head. Aromas are hugely estery, brown sugar, dark fruits, caramelization, molasses, mildly spicy notes with a touch of roast and dark chocolate. Flavors show some umami meatiness, smokey (medium smoke), caramelization, very malty with mild esters and light chocolate. Medium to slightly fuller body, lightly warming with medium to slightly fuller carbonation.

Bomber bought at Albertson’s in Hayden. Aroma consists of light banana, dough, ginger. Pours cloudy yellow with a fast-disappearing white big-bubbly head. Taste is...odd. It’s spicy, lemony, meaty, dry, watery. The ginger’s fairly strong. Creamy mouthfeel and a thin body. This could have had a lot more potential.

Cloudy brown beer. Semi soft palate, a little dry. Sweet creamy malt squares up to some rich hops. Bitter but not astringent. Vague hints of sweet pineapple before the bitterish end which has metallic tangy aniseed. Alright but comes across as a heavy handed barleywine.
