Description
Eik & Tid (Oak & Time) is a farmhouse beer inspired brewery in Oslo, Norway dedicated to making sour and wild beer the nordic way.
Our entire brew setup is customized to fit the raw beer brewing process. By modifying surplus dairy tanks from Norwegian farms, we where able to get what we needed at an affordable cost. We also like the added bonus of upcycling derelict equipment instead of getting new made and shipped half across the globe.

Growler, Zwanze Day, Nøgne Ø. An unclear, yellow beer with more or less no head. The aroma is dominated by cucumber, turning into pickled cucumber. Some lemony notes and pale malts mash as well. It’s quite vinegar-ish in the flavor, and combined with lots of cucumber there’s not much room for the other flavors. Dry and medium bodied, acidic and still sort of smooth on the palate, with cucumber and a good dash of vinegar in the finish. Both fresh and pickled cucumber that is. Sure not my favorite from Eik & Tid. Cucumber is nice, but this didn’t suit me very well. A small glass was ok, doubt a regular glass would be very pleasant. 161001

Growler, Zwanze Day, Nøgne Ø. An unclear, candy red beer with some head. More a rim of bubbles than a real head actually. There’s a touch of white bread and sourmash in the aroma, some almond notes too, but it’s the cherries that do the hard work, even though it should be more of them in my opinion. It’s tart and acidic on the palate, with some lemon juice, almond and sourmash. As in the aroma, the cherries are running the show, but they are certainly not overplaying. Long, acidic finish. I’d sure prefer more cherry in this beer, but it’s a fine one anyway. 161001
