Clear golden colour with a minimal white head. Aroma of pale malt and some skunk. Light-bodied, just as you expect with little else. Taste of a typical macrobrew with some noticeable hops and hardly and malt. Aftertaste plain and bland, at least it wasn’t overpoweringly bad! Overall, a typical ’light’ you’d find anywhere, but neat to try because it was the ’REAL’ cheesy Aussie light beer. I sampled this from draught a few times in Melbourne & Sydney during my trip to Australia.

Dark brown beer with a good head, a rather plain dry aroma but with a refreshly dry flavour. A very, very nice beer.

Golden coloured with a white fluffy head. Sweetish, somewhat dusty corn-aroma. Thin, bready flavour with an unpleasant bitterness. Avoid!

Good looking light lager with a dry aroma of sorts. A good thirst quenching flavour with quite a dry finish, I could not find any notion of the chemical flavour. The beer is OK for a thirst quencher.

So I'm wandering around Cardiff and every pub I go to has the same three Brain's beers. I can understand wanting to try something different, but to end up at an Aussie bar, swigging this drek? What was I thinking??

Dark brown. Apple aroma. Mild and toffeish. Light bodied. A hint of coffee. Rather sweet. Low bitterness. A plain, but enjoyable light bodied ale.
