Description
Stark Brewing Company originally started back in 1994 as the Stark Mill Brewery. Stark Mill was the first brewery in the city and was brought to life through the efforts of Brewmaster Peter Telge. Peter is a Manchester native, born and raised here in the Queen City, and has been in charge of the brewery for over 20 years now. In 1999, the brewery underwent a rebranding to keep up with the times and opened back up as Milly's Tavern, named after Peter's favorite German Shepherd, who is honored in our logo. Stark Brewing Company is proud to continue its devoted legacy as being Manchester's only brewpub, bringing fresh beer, delicious food, and great times to the people of New England.

growler-pours a rich tan head that laces and hazy amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, berries. Taste is medium malt-caramel, nutty, roasty, equal metallic/bitter/English hops-also some north west hops comes through. Doesn’t quite balance initially. About ½ way through the first one, became a nicer/better balanced EPA with some bitter/citrus hops. The finish is long with metallic English hops and dry. Occasional. OK carbonation.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Chestnut brown colour with ruby notes, short frothy head. Woody nose with notes of bourbon, or rather bourbon liqueur (Southern Comfort). Fruity, acidic taste with wood, sweet bourbon notes and a sweet-sour, acidic finish leaning slightly in the Rodenbach direction. Not very bitter, medium body, rather sweet. Aged in ex Jack Daniels barrels. Definitely different, enjoyable in moderate quantities.
