Cask gravity at London Drinker 2006. Golden with sweaty hop aroma. It’s fine. Good balance. Hop is green and gives good flavour. Another good beer from this range.

Cask handpull at Magpie & Crown, Brentford. Nice hop profile on this otherwise standard bitter. Very drying on the end. Good citrus, some pear drop flavour. Another good beer from Grand Union

Cask handpull at Simple Simon’s, Canterbury. Copper colour with bubbly ivory colour head. Strong hop aroma, something American perhaps. Malts need to be stronger in mouth before an attack of citrus, intense hop on end. Grapefruit. Needs more malt structure. Hops seem lost without it. And served too cold too. Apart from that its tasty hoppy strong beer. Alcohol doesn’t distort it. Hop finish would be stunning if underpinned by stronger malts.

Cask gravity at Red Lion, Snargate. Lots of liquorice, dark roasted malts on the aroma. Very dark ruby colour with thin disappearing head. Bit of dark treacle. Lovely in mouth, bit of warmth from the alcohol and a bit sticky. Good old ale though

Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms, London. Gold colour with lasting white head. Wonderful nose of chinook hops. Fullish in mouth and then kicking spicey hop finish. Brilliant.

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. I would love to do a horizontal tasting of all of these One Hop beers as I think that they are a great idea. This one had a golden orange colour with bubbly white head. Really good hop nose with good citrus and green hop flavour. SilkTork was banging on about the brewery, but I don’t care, these are cracking beers.

Gravity cask at Kent Beer Festibval. Gold colour. Blackcurrant and hop nose, sweetish in mouth, lime citrus on end with more blackcurrant. Good example of this hop

Cask gravity at Kent BF. I fall somewhere in between spiesy’s comments and those from duff and chris_o. Slightly yeasty nose on this golden beer with some citrus and hoppy dry finish. I found it very drinkable without it being outstanding

Cask gravity Canterbury beer festival. I am a big fan of liberty hops and this has got a great aroma of this hop type. Golden ale with good citrus and balance. Good in mouth with that kick of liberty hops on the finish

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet - plain and simple. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and peach, leading to a dry hoppy end - a weird flavor - not a Kölsch in my universe.
