Established in 2018, Halton Turner started on a small plant in Hall Green, Birmingham, but moved to a larger plant in Digbeth in 2021. Brewing a wide range of beers in cask and KeyKeg, the beers are mainly found in the local area. Frequent events and festivals are hosted at the brewery taproom.

Santa's Little Belter from Halton Turner Brewing Company

Cask at the Wagon & Horses, Stourbridge. Pours very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is light roast malts with a little ginger and cinnamon. Taste has light ginger and roast malts.

Cask at the Wellington, Brum. Pours very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is burnt toffee, banana and mango. Taste has toffee and caramel throughout with a hoppy mango finish.

Keg draught at the brewery tap. Light to mid-gold with a large white head. Typical peppery and yeasty aroma of a saison but there is an odd metallic note. Doesn't ruin it but neither does it add to the proceedings. Taste on the bitter side, white pepper, bready yeast, some sweet tropical fruit notes near the end. Drying finish. Light body with heavy carbonation. Pretty good.

Forholdvis pålitelige notater fra en travel dag på The Great British Beer Festival, London 02.08.22: brunsvart, flott cremeskum som varer helt ned. Kaffe, mørke sjokolader, hiont av eukalyuptus og røykmalt. Pussig kombo, men det fungerer. Myk munnfølelse, behagelig bitterhet og litt bærsyre i avslutningen. Mersmak.

3/8/2022. Keg at GBBF 2022, day 2. Pours black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of ash, chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, caramel, molasses. Moderate sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness, slight tart edge. Moderate body, slightly creamy, quite fizzy. Good, but too carbonated.

Keg at the brewery, Brum. Pours hazy light gold with a large head. Aroma is weedy and grassy. Taste has grassy melon with a bitter finish. Slightly watery.

Keg at the Halton Turner taproom, Bingohame RB meet, 02/07/22. Hazed golden orange with a lasting white head. Nose is mango, apricot, juicy citric flesh, soft malts. Taste comprises apricot, mango, floral notes, light perfume, pale malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness. It's fine.

Keg at the Halton Turner taproom, Bingohame RB meet, 02/07/22. Clear golden pour, carbonation evident, good sized white crown. Nose is pale malts, citric tinged straw, floral notes, grass, tangerine. Taste comprises mandarin, cereals, pale malts, orange zest. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with mellow hop bitterness. Tidy enough IPL.

Keg at the Halton Turner taproom, Bingohame RB meet, 02/07/22. Hazed golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is juicy citric flesh, melon, grass, dank hop edge. Taste comprises bitter orange, melon, lychee, dank nip, mixed tropical fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come dankened hop bitterness. Decent pale.
