Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

Cloudy red crimson color with small head. Aroma of raspberries, mild. The base beer is so bland that we welcome anything that can add some flavor, and this raspberry juice does the trick, a bit tart, a bit fruity, there is still a light spicy note from the beer.
Pleasant and balanced.

Murky dark blond color with small head. The aroma is mild, there is a touch of fruit, banana, light spices, and some yeasty dough. The mouthfeel is quite dry but smooth enough; the flavor is a bit spicy, and doughy, yeasty, with a light banana presence; ordinary bitterness.
Nothing bad about this beer, but Hefeweizen require a good effort in order to become interesting and this one is just plain boring.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out clove, banana and wheat. Flavour is kind of muted, with wheat, light clove and light banana. Needs a little more oomph. Not bad but pretty weak.

Cloudy dark amber color, small head. Despite the ABV, the body is weaker than expected; the light traces of caramel blend with some paint thinner. It’s not a totally bad beer, it’s just a regularly baddish beer, what you would expect from pseudo-craft micro breweries planted in faraway valleys.

Cloudy blond color, small head. Some pond water, some sulfur aroma, doesn’t seem too attractive. Dry and weak mouthfeel, a bit of pedio, footy, milky, soft, with some vegetables, and light metallic feeling.
This one seems so imprecise, chaotic, and wrong…

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy amber brown with a small white head. Aroma is very dirty and earthy, with muddy yeast. Flavour is very earthy and dirty, muddy yeasty, and dusty - you get the picture. Not good at all.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out banana esters, Belgian yeast, and wheat. Flavour is dry and balanced, with wheat upfront, with light banana esters and slight Belgian yeast. Well-constructed and smooth. Decent.

Cloudy orangey light amber with medium sized compact head. Same yeast that goes around in the region like a virus, hence loaded with vegetables, tomatoes; it also has light spices and very light funky and manure aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth; the spiciness is there, but the yeast is muddling; some bitter oranges in the final. Strong bitterness, some chicory.
Didn’t like this one.

Dark color, near black, with small head. A straight Stout, well balanced, blending roasted malts and some dark chocolate, avoiding the ashes trap; supposedly a milk stout, but the lactose is not evident.
Very good.

Golden or light amber color, a bit dull, small head. Light aroma of fruity yeast, spice and paper. Good body strength, moderately sweet, the malt has a fruity accent, there is some spice from the yeast, but it also has a very strong flavor of vegetables, tomatoes, and the alcohol creates a boozy feeling; the hopping is strong and quite good though.
It has the flaws of many other high octane Belgian imitations.
