Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a dark brown with an amber tinge and a small tan head. Nose brings out notes of lactose and dry cocoa. Flavour is quite dry, with bitter dry cocoa powder and a little chalkiness. Less sweet than most milk stouts. Thin palate, with not a whole lot going on. Pretty weak, but inoffensive.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy bright orange with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of Belgian yeast and candied sugar. Flavour is heavy on the candied sugar, with an authentically Belgian yeasty quality to it. Not too sweet or yeasty, but balanced really well. Highly drinkable despite the ABV. Very good.

Cloudy light amber color. Light aroma, fruity, very light bread, yeast, freshly cut wood. Good body strength; rather sweet in the front, quite yeasty, and moderately fruity, balanced then by a medium-strong bitterness. The high yeast presence is a flaw, the fruity component helps a bit.
Clumsy but not bad.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy bright orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, light floral notes, and a touch o sweetness. Flavour is very well-balanced, with notes of Belgian yeast way upfront and light floral notes. The yeast gives a very authentic flavour to this. Extremely well-balanced and constructed. Easily the best beer from this brewery so far.

Draught at the brewery
Dark brown color, almost black, with nearly no head. Aroma and flavor carry a load of phenol and medicinal components, some molasses, bitter orange peel, roasted nuts, dark chocolate. For the records, the body is a bit weaker than expected, there is a light residual sweetness, balanced strong bitterness, with some hop resins.
This shouldn’t be sold.

Dark brown color with almost no head. Timid aroma of piney hops. The mouthfeel is lighter than the average Black IPA, there is some flavor of roasted malts with a dark chocolate trace, but also some late chemicals; in this kind of beers the flaws get covered by the big resiny hopping, but they can’t disappear. The final is also a bit ashy and dusty.
Not bad, but imprecise and sub-par.

2018-10-31, draught at the brewery; 4.7% ABV, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Cloudy brown colour, small beige head. Lean and in the dry side, it has some good bready my quality, just a hint of roasted malt, milk chocolate, and some hop aroma.
Pretty good beer, very clean and elegant.

2014-12-18, draught at the brewery; 4.5% ABV, 5-3-6-2-11= 27
Brown color with almost no head. The aroma is too mild. The mouthfeel of this one as well is dry and weak; roasted malt flavor, some roasted nuts, a bit earthy and dusty, with a trace of diacetyl. Ordinary bitterness.
Forgettable.

Muddy dark blond-orange color with no head. The aroma is spicy and fruity, but very light; also very light smoke, it happens sometimes with the wheat. This one as well is fairly dry, the flavor is a bit spicy, and it has a strange flowery character that although not intended adds an original touch, to an otherwise insignificant and dirty beer; mild orange hint, and correct bitterness.
Another very imprecise beer.

Hazy light amber color with almost no head. The aroma is a bit stale. Missing malt flavor, hay, quite dry mouthfeel, lightly grassy, with increasing bitterness in the final.
Not more pleasant than a generic mass Lager. I can’t see myself drinking this again.

Cloudy amber color, almost no head, dull hue. The aroma is a bit fruity. The mouthfeel is extremely dry, that leads to a metallic feeling; the malt profile is mild, a not bready, and a hint of toffee; it has enough bitterness, with a citrus touch.
Not bad, but imprecise.
