Draft at Heart of Darkness, Singapore. Poured a hazy golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast and light tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate to light sour, with a light, watery, light herbal citrus palate. Light bodied with flat carbonation. Not good. In this case “sour is not fine”.

Tap at Good Luck, Haji Lane. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a light, smoky, dry ashtray, coffee, slightly watery, liqourice palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Rather light for a stout, which IMO fits the climate.

Draft at Good Luck Haji Lane. Poured a clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, yuzu fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, light citrus, herbal, earthy, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Quite inoffensive. Light with soft fruits. Quite sessionable.

The aroma is yeasty, almost saison-like, light citrus, some smoky notes and hints of wood. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, yeasty, light fruity, light pepper spice, dry hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Tap at the Good Luck Beerhouse, Singapore. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a big lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is big roasty malt, milky chocolate, light liqourice, light dry coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a silky smooth, rich, slightly oily, roasty, liqourice, creamy lactose palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Awesome. Plenty going on and nicely balanced.

Draft at the American Taproom, Singapore. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast, zesty lemon lime citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate sour and sweet, with a light, crisp, sugary, lemon citrus palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Rather drinkable for the masses but too sweet to be a traditional gose.
