Shared by Nie at Bungalow. Ushitora Four "R" IPA 6% 60 IBU A light gold with a filmy head of foam. It has a nice prickly pine & fruit hop bouquet. The taste is mostly pine but with light tropical fruits and a residual sweetness in the aftertaste. Pretty nice and a cut above their recent releases.

Tap at Bungalow. Bright pastel yellow, cloudy, low, fine head. Crisp, crackery nose, lemon, wheat. Crisp and light lemon and grapefruit flavor, dry as hell. A bit thin but good. I want a bit more sweetness and body from their beers. They seem just a bit too over-attenuated to me lately. Still good though.

Tap at Komachi. Hazy, pale gold with a low, fine head. Crackery, dry malt nose, grapefruit, some cat piss. Dry and crisp flavor, grapefruit and crackers. Clean and good, though almost all their beers are starting to taste the same.

Ushitora Experimental IPA 6.8% On tap at Molto. A deep gold with a thick foamy. The hop bouquet is juicy fruits, light pine and resin - nice. Med-full bodied with a dry finish. The taste is simple with pine and a bitter pomelo character. Alright.

On tap at Bungalow’s 3rd Anniversary. Ushitora double IPA a decent IPA but I don’t really see it as a double. Middle of the road west coast hoppiness with a better body than my last three Ushitora beers. As an IPA it is fine as a double it just doesn’t measure up. Oh, it’s 8.2% no wonder it had an OK body. I guess that puts it on the threshold between an IPA and Double IPA...

Ushitora x Schooner Exact #037 Hop Smuggler Session Ale - On tap at Bungalow’s 3rd Anniversary. Typical super-pale Ushitora gold. It’s got a nice hoppy fruit nose on a light body. Not watery but light as 90% of their beers seem to be lately. Decent flavor and a solid session IPA much more satisfying than that Ame Yomi Saison.
