Tap at Dig. Nose of coffee, cocoa, soy sauce. Big umami. Dark brown with red tints and lace. Big umami flavor, cocoa and coffee, with and nutty, with a bit of licorice and orange and a nicely hoppy, bitter finish. Good.

Tap at Dig. Light orange, hazy, with lace. Citrus nose, relatively dry. Not huge flavor, but not sweet either. Comes across as dry and drinkable but not really all that exciting.

Tap at Dig. Stinky, syrupy nose, oranges, mango, grass, piss and honey. Hazy orange color with lace. Big toffee flavor, oranges, honey. Sweet and heavy. Not impressed. Maybe it’s just too old.

Tap at Dig. Copper-gold color, hazy, wiht lace. Soft nose, a bit of tropical fruit, orange, biscuits. A bit old. Biscuity, crackery flavor, oranges. Decent malt character with good bitterness. Full body, nice carbonation.

Tap at Ushi-Tora tap takeover event at CBM Koenji. Slightly cloudy golden color with a medium-sized white head. Aromas of pine, resin and dankiness with some citrus and grapefruit as well. Taste is fairly similar, but the 7% ABV is noticeable and the beer mouthfeel and finish feel a bit muddled. Tap at Ushi-Tora tap takeover at CBM Koenji. Clear pale straw color with a nice tight white head. Aromas of grapefruit and citrus with some resin and earthiness as well. Very nice body and feels like beer on the palate. Very refreshing and dry, crisp finish. Tap at Ushi--Tora tap takeover at CBM Koenji. Fairly clear straw color with a nice soapy white head. Big juicy grapefruit aromas with some floral notes as well. A bit watery and thin-bodied, and doesn’t live up to the nose, but still very refreshing with good bitterness for the ABV. Tap at Ushi-Tora tap takeover at CBM Koenji. Cloudy orangish yellow with a nice big soapy white head. Strong hop-forward nose: mostly grapefruit, citrus but also some earthy, floral resin aromas present as well with an undertone of banana and clove. Taste is more of the same. Very hop-forward with only little hefeweizen character noticeable on the palate. The hops definitely push the hefe yeast aside and jump all over the palate. It’s a unique mash-up of two classic styles. Not bad. Fairly straightforward hefe, but not overly sweet, which is a mark up in my book. Good creamy mouthfeel. Nice finish.
