Tap at Keyaki Spring 2015. Cloudy gold, lacy low head. Nice enough pineapple nose at first, then turns a bit gummy. Juicy pineapple flavor, that’s about it. Decent enough while very cold, but they should give up on this fruit.

Draft at Keyaki Spring 2015. Lightly hazy straw color with very little head. Nose is tropical fruit, pineapple and grain. Taste is similar but more balanced than the #006: Hey! Painapo! they did early on. Not sweet at all. Nice dry and crisp finish. Refreshing fruit beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of #021: Natsushichatteru Boy on 09 Jun 2015 at 21:59 - Score: 7

Tap at Komachi. Nose of caramel, cherry, grassy, pine. Middy red color, low head. Sweet citrus flavor, fruity, caramel and grass, a tiny bit funky. Seems like a somewhat hoppy amber ale, don’t know why they call it an IPA. Ok.

Tap at Komachi. Very cloudy, pale gold with lace. Nose of grapefruit, crackers, other fruits as well. Very crackery malt flavor, ok grapefruit. Rather clean and subdued. Not bursting with fruit, not much else happening either. A bit of caramel. Unexciting.

Tap at Bungalow. Big citrus nose, kuicy, slightly spicy, shikuwaser and some crackers. PAle golden color, hazy, with a fine head. Juicy citrus flavor, bready, crackers, dry, bitter finish. Not sweet. Refreshing, a bit salty and minerally. Not great, but well enough done for the type of beer.

On tap at CBM Koenji. Slight hazy straw color with a nice soapy white head. Faint smell of shikwasa with some lemon, grain and corriander on the nose as well. Light body with a very refreshing quality. Slightly watery though. Taste is more of the same with the citrus hanging around and some pepper coming out as it warms up a bit. Finish is slightly bitter and peppery. Not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of #018: Hiyashi Chuuka Hajimemashita Ka? (Shikuwasa Drop) on 22 Aug 2015 at 22:40 - Score: 7

On tap at CBM Koenji. Deep black with minimal beige head and slight ruby highlights. Big aromas of blackberry and blueberry. Very fruit forward for an imperial stout. Body is thin and a little too boozy for my taste. Some hazelnut present as well. Seems a little young and ripe for the style....almost like a barley wine instead of an imperial stout. Slightly sweet. Boozy finish. Needs more work. --- Beer merged from original tick of Uetake #009 Mashi Mashi no Kuro on 11 May 2015 at 00:16 - Score: 7

Tap at Bungalow. Pitch black, shiny. Nose of chocolate umami, cafe au lait, berries and fruit. Sweet flavor, lots of umami and phenolic fruits and berries. Especially black berries. Creamy vanilla. Coffee. Thick and full. Could use a few more weeks lagering, I think. And it’s way more phenolic and fruity than I want in an IS. Decent first shot.
