Tap at Watering Hole 4th Anniversary. Hazy, glowing gold with a finger of white foam. Light saison yeast nose with crackery malts. A little too thin on the body with some light crackery malts. Lemon zest and mineral notes come out on the palate. Dry finish that is almost abrasive. --- Beer merged from original tick of Saison on 26 Jun 2016 at 17:57 - Score: 7. Original review text: Light saison yeast nose with Crackery malt. Lemon zest and minerals. A little too dry and thin bodied

On tap at Craft Beer Live 2016. It poured a cloudy gold and a banana wheat aroma. A bit of rough earthy bitter funk in the taste. Overall, it is wheaty, but rough. The Zig Zag was substantially better. This is still a work in progress.

Marca Saison 4.5% on tap at Molto it pours a cloudy light straw gold with an eggshell white dense head of foam. Wheat, tangy, spicy clove and maybe hints of DMS? The taste is wheat, spice but has a somewhat bitter metallic character - I’m not sure if it is the yeast or a production flaw. Still ok but a bit on the rough side. Not the best Marca can do.

Tap at Kyoto Festa. Juicy tropical fruit nose, orange, passion fruits, apricot. A bit peppery too. Great fruit flavor, tropical, spicy. Seems like Belgian yeast was used. Full, creamy body. good.

Tap at Awashima Souko. Pours a clearish gold with a tiny white head. Aromas of coriander, wheat and orange alongside some resiny hop notes. Body has some light creaminess and feels a tad heavy for the abv. Some booze notes on the palate as well. Good Belgian like yeast character throughout. More hoppy bitterness on the finish with a pithy iyokan-like bitterness alongside nectarine. Tasty stuff from Marca, but maybe a tad too boozy. --- Beer merged from original tick of White IPA on 13 Apr 2016 at 19:43 - Score: 7. Original review text: Good hoppy bitterness. Slight wit like body.

Tap at Awashima Souko. This was is the Kenya cinnamon roasted (fairly light roasted) version and the 4th in the series. It seems as though Marca uses a different single origin roast for each batch. Past batches included a dark roasted Brazilian single and a light roasted natural processed Ethiopian. Thanks to Davido for sharing! Pours a deep amber with a little bit of head that lingers. Huge milk chocolate bomb nose with some light espresso bitter notes along side some dark cacao as it warms. Very rich on the palate with more coffee, chocolate and caramel notes. A slight bit of buttery diacetyl comes out as it warms, but not terribly distracting. Good chocolately finish that lingers with nice caramel notes throughout. My first Marca and a good one at that. --- Beer merged from original tick of Coffee Amber on 13 Apr 2016 at 19:47 - Score: 7

On tap at Bay Brewing Yokohama, Yokohama. Slightly hazy dark amber with a minimal off-white head. Lovely aroma of freshly brewed coffee! Malty with notes of caramel, but the fresh coffee is dominating. Moderate sweet, surprisingly balanced and surprisingly delicious. Impressive and just lovely!

On tap at the brewpub. Marca Hop-Cas Pale Ale 5.5% a deep clear orange with a citrusy biscuit nose. The taste is med-full bodied bready bitter biscuit with light citrus and honey. Quite good but I’d like it hoppier with less malts.

Marca Coffee Amber 4.7% On tap at Komachi. A nice reddish-amber-brown pour with a light beige head. The nose is a sugary milk coffee, enticing. Medium-light bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is sweet coffee and a honey biscuitiness in the finish. Very nice stuff.

Tap at Komachi. Deep brown, cloudy, with a low, thick head. Perfect coffee nose, rich and balanced without any astringency or sourness, plus some chocolate and caramel. Great mocha flavor, coffee, chocolate, some unnecessary esters with banana and peach, but the coffee is really perfectly done. Body is good and pretty full. Slightly too sweet, but really impressive. I would raise it up to about 6%abv and try to get it better attenuated and less estery and it would be world class.
