Tap at KLB. Deep red with a huge, airy head. Nose is cherry, vanilla, lactose, caramel, rich and malty, tangy lactic acid, cherry. Aiming at a quick Alexander and it definitely seems that way. Flavor is malty, cherry, vanilla. Rich, nice sweet-sour balance. Delicious and a lot of fun.

Tap at KBL. Clear gold with a thick head. Not hazy. Nose is citrus, catpiss, tropical fruits, spicy hops, biscuity malt. Simcoe? Citrusy flavor, a bit pissy, lots of hop. Somewhere between a WCIPA and a hazy. Tasty.

Tap at KBL. Pink-orange, hazy, thick head. Candy tutti frutti nose, coconut, pineapple, pine, lemon, grapefruit. Sweet, lactose and coconut, grapes. Not my thing, but a bit of fun.

Tap at KBL. Medium amber, clear. Toasty amber malt nose, light caramel, rye bread, oranges. Much like a DeKonnick. Great malt balance, light hops, really well put together. Not sure if I get the tea--but the barley is there.

Tap at KBL. Nose is lemon, orange, spicy yeast, wheaty malt. Pale yellow with lace. Lightly hazy. Lemony, biscuity flavor, refreshing and crisp. Nice bitter edge.

Good stuff. Light sweetness from the yeast, quite nice.

Kyoto Beer Lab　Five Years Cheers In Beers Barleywine 13% Lovely reddish brown color with a wisp of beige foam. Aggressively huge sharp malty sweet aroma with some heat foreshadowing the big ABV. BIG malt with candied fruits, figs and plums, then some heat but the finish has a surprising but really nice nutty element to it. Full bodied but ultra smooth. You do get some warmth in your stomach but otherwise that big ABV is completely hidden. This makes it a slightly dangerous brew. Dead easy to drink. Happy Anniversary!

I’m starting off with Kyoto Beer Lab Maibock, Your Bock Maibock, Kimi Bock 7.1% 25 IBU Lovely orange gold color with minimal foam and a malty sweet caramel aroma with notes of orange marmalade. Quite full bodied and smooth. Malty sweet caramel and orange jam with a fairly crisp dry finish. Really nice.
