Very cloudy amber color. Modest hop aromas of apricots and citrus. The mouth is light and smooth, with modest bitterness. Highly quaffable. Modest bitter finish. The hops don’t sing in this beer like many beers NE style IPAs I’ve had in the past and also the malt backbone isn’t showcased. This is definitely a bit more hop forward for the style. That said, it is immensely drinkable for 8% and I regretted getting only a half a pint.

Medium dark brown color. Modest roastiness but flavors don’t jump out. Really nice soft mouth feel but lacks roastiness that I was hoping for. Fairly middle of the road stout that doesn’t stick out in anyway. I think D.C. Can do better

Dark brown color. Lots of dark fruit, chovolate tobacco leaf and modest roastiness. It’s not as hoppy, acidic or full bodied as many US Imperial Stouts with low carbonation. Smooth and very approachable. Might not be what everyone wants but good stuff.

mahogany clear color. Lovely rich sweet malty smokey nose with intense smoked cheese. Modestly sweet rich mouth tons of smoked cheese, not cloying at all. Doesn’t have the greatest depth, but solid nonetheless.

Tap at Hama. Deep reddish-brown with a low, thick head. Nice caramel nose, cherries, orange. Rounded and smooth malt flavor, great hops, very fruity. Medium sweetness and a good peppery finish.

Tap at Hama. Shiny black with low, lacy, foam. Nose of chocolate, soy sauce, berries, coffee, wood. Very fruity flavor, lots of berries. Also chocolate, roasted wood and a very nice prickly, peppery finish. A bit too fruity-sweet for me, but very good.
