Cask at the Ale Rooms, Knowle, Solihull. Poured a clear light golden colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is grainy gluey malt, cereal, yeast, floral woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, rich, malty, floral, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering, somewhat unpleasant bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. The hop combination seems horribly wrong. Where was the citra? I didn’t get any fruit whatsoever and the lingering bitterness in the finish was really unpleasant. This was bad from beginning to end.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Tewkesbury Winter Ales Festival 2/2/2018. Deep brown in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Tobacco, chewy and toasty malts, some chocolate and dried berry fruits, leading to a touch of spice and moderately bitter finish. Enjoyable.

From cask at the Saints Winter Beer Festival 2017. Pours ruby brown with a very small bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, dried fruits, roasted malt, banana, plum, toffee and biscuit. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Light roasted bitterness to finish. Decent brew.
