330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is full of rich bourbon barrels, deep treacle toffee, dark dried fruits, and caramelized—almost burnt—brown sugar. Flavour reveals a very roasty barleywine, with deep roasted malt, boozy bourbon barrels, burnt/caramelized brown sugars, and a touch of rye bread crust. Wonderful barrel character that accentuated the great roasted malts, with enough of that fruitiness to still very much convince that this is a barley wine. Complex, refined; excellent.

330 ml can. Pours black with full dark tan head. Aromas of chalky dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla and slick roasted malts. Flavors of rich black coffee, dry dark chocolate icing, dark sugars, vanilla, chicory and roasted malts. Warm finish. Excellent.

Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is toffee, liquoice, raisins and some figs with mild toast. Flavour is quite similar, but also has a rather burning alcohol to it.
