375ml can into shaker. Ambient temperature, middle of winter here in Sydney. 9°Celcius. Very dark beer with a large foamy head. A lot of orange zest in the aroma plus hints of chocolate and cocoa. Good body, smooth texture. Taste is bitter leading to dark chocolate, bitter orange, then dry coffee. Nice stout, very adult.

(Can) Pours clear dark brown with good dense tan head. Lovely hoppy aroma - pine. Light body but with excellent carbonation giving soft mouthfeel. The hops are good and present throughout the palate, staring with fresh piney notes and finishing with some nice bitterness. There’s some dark toffee / treacle sweetness but not very prominent. Not your average brown ale and very nice.

A really smooth Ipa that hides its alcohol well. There's loads of pine and citrus with a hint of mintand a solid malt backbone.

Schooner on tap at Club Rivers, Riverwood. Dark brown/red beer with thin creamy white head. Cocoa/dark chocolate nose with notes of plum. Nice! Good lacing, quite harsh carbonation. Smoky finish with lingering bitter fruit. Very adult for the style.

Can. Very dark brown with a beige head that collapses to a coat pretty rapidly. Aroma of mocha and toasted strong bread with grapefruit and pine. Just enough sweetness to support the malty flavours so they don't get lost before citrus and resin rush in at the bitter end. The finish is brief and tidy. It's brown and an ale but not really a brown ale. But it's another tasty one from Akasha.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with good white head. Lovely aroma - pine, grapefruit, lime. Edomite body, excellent carbonation. Taste starts with a good balance of tangy citrus and light biscuity malt. The hops rapidly come to the fore with a building bitterness which last a long time. Excellent very hoppy IPA.

Can. Clear amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of pine, herbs, pineapple, lime, nectarine. At first vibrant with a touch of cleaning product but dampens down considerably after a minute or two. Sweet with bread crust, stone and tropical fruit. Pineapple and nectarine give way to herbs and resin at the fairly bitter end. Good but not particularly distinctive.

From a 375ml can on 2/3/2018. Pours a clearish deep golden with a biggish head which disappears quickly. The nose is primarily tropical fruit. Taste wise, there's some biscuit malt, peach apricot, passionfruit and mango with some moderate to firm, slightly resiny hops. Fullish body with average carbonation. Passable but a bit muted and certainly lacking punch, definition and character when one considers the style.
