Half pint on tap at Jack Greene, Hobart. Pale cloudy yellow beer with thin white film on top. Nose has some grain, some malt, a little lemon. Medium carbonation. Funky and creamy, refreshing. Nailed the Berliner Weisse bit, not so sure about the whiskey bit. Good beer!

Can. Weird design. Luminous deep gold with a large white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma is earthy and spicy with some oranges and wood. You’d guess rye but not "carrot seed flowers", however different from carrot flowers they might be. Smells like a Belgian Blonde with a sightly harsh yeast note. Texture is pleasantly creamy. Dryish without much in the way of fruit except orange peel. There’s a little twang of funkiness. Punchy rye and yeast-drive spices are prominent at the nicely dry and quite bitter finish. Pretty good.

Can. Hazy straw-coloured with a large loose white head. Very promising aroma of mildly funky damp hay, meadow blossoms, under-ripe nectarines, light berries. Light bodied, spritzy. Quite dry, gets drier. Less funky than suggested by the aroma, almost austere hayish malts, some fruit (again the additions don’t stand out too much), spiced finishing bitterness. Pretty good.

It has a lovely spread of aromas including rockmelon, peach, grapefruit, honey, nougat and a little malt. The malt backbone is lacking when tasted, but I guess you’re forewarned when you’re told it’s a session IPA. It has considerable bitterness showing predominantly lemon notes.
