Can. Gold with a slight haze and an inch of loose white head. Aroma of grass, grapefruit, pine, some mango. Light bodied. Clean with light crackery malt of little character; bright hop notes, medium to high bitterness. End is nicely dry. It's fine but pretty generic.

Tap. Deep brown with a lasting beige head. A: Spicy and a bit leathery with toffee and figs. Very Westmalle Dubbel - presumably that overbearing yeast is the archnemesis. Heavier than expected from the aroma - verging on syrupy and overtly boozy. Lots of dark fruit and sugars but not much dough. Bitterness is pretty firm and that spicy yeast really works to balance the heavy malt presence. This is very good and I'm guessing someone has been working up to this one for many years.

On tap at the brewery. Pours dark orange brown. Bourbon, orange, vanilla, raisins, pine, grapefruit. Barrel has added a boozier flavour, dulled the citrus hop notes and really improved the body. Good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours gold brown. Orange, pine, grapefruit, lemon, floral, biscuit, plenty caramel, touch of heat in the finish. Quite light bodied and carbonation is too high.

On tap at the brewery. Pours gold. Banana, orange, peach, cloves, pepper, bread. Hard to control the yeast notes in something this strong and they're not far off.
