From a 440ml can on 15/6/2023. Pours a cloudy orange with the barest of heads. Has a quite pleasant tropical and stone fruit nose, with passionfruit, mango, banana and a good dash of apricot. Despite being not cited in the additions, apricot is probably the strongest flavour of the sip, with a little mango and a hint of banana. I don't really get the coconut or vanilla though. It's moderately tart at the back. Has a thick, creamy mouthfeel with slightly prickly carbonation. This is reasonably enjoyable but it's a bit of a stretch to describe it as a pastry beer, as the sweetness is just moderate. I've had quite a few yank and Scandinavian brews in this style that knock it out of the park, but Oz brewers are currently struggling to really nail it.

Can. Clear brown with a pale beige head. Aroma of yeasty dough, dried and stewed fruit. Maybe a little green nuttiness but nothing obviously unusual. Full bodied. Fairly sweet but with firm balancing bitterness. Some stewed and more dried fruit, hints of nuts and salt. I like that it feels big without overt alcohol or excessive sweetness and that the bitterness is quite bold.

Can. Almost black with a large loosish tan head. Aroma of roast, brioche, mocha, singed sugars. Dryish and very clean with pointed roasty notes, some singed sugars and hard spices. Drinkable & very much in the Foreign/ Tropical zone.

From a 440ml can ion 11/6/2023. Pours the deeprest amber with a small head. The nose is light banana, bubblegum and yeast. Tastes of mild toasted malt with more banana and bubblegum, with a sharpish bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Fairly restrained but a pleasant little beer.

Two men enter one man leaves. Fitting I should be doing the Nutbush and drinking this on this sad day - unless I have my 80s hokum mixed up Macleod. Can. Clear reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma of toffee apple, some bread and spices in the distance. Sweet with an insistent bitterness coming through to relieve. Not very interesting.

From a 440ml can on 18/5/2023. Pours the deepest brown with a small tan head that disappears quickly. The nose is powerful and just lovely - all melting jaffa lollies and choc orange mud cake. The tatse largely follows suit - rich choc orange, and cakey with some bourbony booze reasonably prominent in the background. Not super sweet, but still definitely on the dessertish side, though it's tempered by moderate citrus rind bitterness. The plate is syrupy and a touch oily, the carbonation moderate. This is a real experience, huge, complex and intense, yet somehow still approachable. Absolutely cracking stuff.

Can. Opaque brownish orange with a cm of white head. Very shy aroma has some stone, tropical and citrus fruit but you have to squint. The taste is OK though - lightish bodied with low carbonation, under-ripe tropical fruit, crackers, peach, a little nod at astringency. Low bitterness. Lacks a bit of shape.

Can. Clear reddish amber with a good cm of pale beige head that lasts very well. Shy aroma of dark breadcrust, prunes, spices. Taste is along those lines but rather more expansive. Bittersweet. Pretty good. Liked the stinging bitter finish.
