Coming off the incredible Simcoe Feels by Mr Banks, I went searching for some more oat cream IPAs. This is the first one, and it feels a bit like chasing the dragon. Very nice though. Aromas of lactose and lemon, plus some bubblegum, bread and honey. A nice creamy mouthfeel is punctuated by a citrus taste that's a little too bitter, throwing out the balance. But all round a good'un.

Aromas of grapefruit, lemon, pineapple and the slightest hint of tobacco. The grapefruit is strong on the tongue. Not overly long. An easy drinker but pretty forgettable.

From a 440ml can on 30/12/2019. Pours a murky golden apple juice colour with a small head. Has a very strong dank, fruity nose with quite a bit of zest. In the mouth, it's intense, with lots of sweet and sour fruit (pineapple, passion fruit, mango, lemon), with a bite that falls short of hop burn, but only just short. Honestly drinks a bit bigger than 9.5%. All up, despite the excitement about the dry hopping numbers, it's just not that enjoyable drinking. This brewer has done much better.

From a 440ml can on 21/12/2019. Pours a murky apple juice colour with virtually no head. Has a mild tropical fruit aroma. On the sip, it's a sweet one for sure - masses of pineapple, mango and peach, which is met by a gentle bitterness, with the sweetness definitely prevailing. the mouthfeel is slightly creamy and the carbonation moderate. Deeds are absolutely smashing out double hazies at the moment, and they're generally pretty good, though often fall short of a being value proposition. This one's like that - quite pleasant (though perhaps a touch to much sweetness) but a bit too dear for mine.

#3 in Canvent 2019 from Carwyn Cellars. Clear golden. Resiny and pineapple nose. Surprisingly understated flavourwise. pineapple to the fore with little bitterness. Super subtle for a DIPA.

Can. Nice and black. Allspice and vanilla nose. Sweet, somewhat syrupy. Very easy to drink. I don't recall any pumpkin at all, but that's fine with me, as I really detest that orange abomination.

Pumpkin porter, huh. What's that definition of gentleman? - one who can play the bagpipes, but doesn't. Can. Black with an inch of light tan head that lasts well. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, spice - nutmeg, cinnamon. Really rather sweet with syrupy chocolate, vanilla, spices. A kick of bitterness at the end helps keep order. No real sign of the pumpkin, but that's not really a complaint. No other complaints either.
