I Can't Believe it's not Juice from The Mill Brewery

Can (packaged 12 days ago). Amber. Opaque but not hazy. Citrus nose. Some juiciness, but a lot less than the style requires.

Can at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dank citrus and light funky tropical fruits with a hint of onion and sweet grains backing. Flavor combines citrus and onion and is supported by tropical fruits and sweet grains.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges slowly. Aroma has dark fruits, raisin and sweet dark grains with whiskey and a touch of roast underlying. Flavor dark grains and dark fruits with a good amount of whiskey and a touch of roast backing.

The Dark Lord Black IPA from The Mill Brewery

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours an earthy near black with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has dark chocolate and dark grains with an earthy roast and a hint of pine underlying. Flavor has earthy dark grains and roast with some chocolate and light pine in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy peachy gold with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has bright tropical fruits and citrus with sweet grains underlying. Flavor has dank citrus with notes of sweet grains, onion and tropical fruits supporting.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dull gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has pine and citrus rind with a bit of onion and grain underlying. Flavor combines onion, pine and light citrus rind and is supported by grains.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has straw and hay with a touch of grass and a bit of fresh leaves. Flavor has straw and grass with a hint of pine and a bit of leaves backing.

A really great, easy drinking 6.3 IPA. Lots of pine plus grapefruit, stone fruit and some biscuit. That stone fruit gives a little relief from the pine in the mouth, giving it a balanced aftertaste.

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma is sweet roasty malt, spicy fruit, oak, boozy alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth rich warm malt, fruity alcohol bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, grassy piney hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry malt, light smoky grassy fruity hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
